Military-IPOB Faceoff: Governor Fayose Calls For Dialogue

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti State, has once again called on the federal government to handle the agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, with caution and allow leaders of the Southeast region to apply political solutions as against the use of force, which has created tension in Abia State and the entire Southeast since the military embarked on its Operation Python Dance II. In a statement e-mailed to  The Trent  on Saturday, September 16, 2017, by Lere Olayinka, a spokesperson for the governor, Fayose also called the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu and his followers to desist from any act capable of threatening the peaceful co-existence of Nigerians and allow dialogue to resolve their agitations. First Woman Declared President In Singapore

Halimah Yacob has been declared Singapore’s eighth president on Wednesday after a “walkover” election that saw no vote after other contenders no longer ran for the position. Mrs. Yacob, 63, had been the only candidate deemed eligible to stand in the country’s Elections Department, having held a key public position as Speaker of Parliament for three years. The other two contenders, Salleh Marican and Farid Khan, were both denied eligibility, having fallen short of a constitutional rule that required any candidate from the private sector to have led a company with shareholder equity of at least 500 million Singapore dollars (372 million dollars). Biafra National Guard declares war against Nigerian Army

Biafra National Guard (BNG) says the Operation Python Dance II, to be carried out by the Nigerian Army in the South-east was targeted at Nnamdi Kanu and other agitators. A statement Wednesday morning by self-styled ‘Major Nkuma’, said BNG knew that the operation “is a show of force and genocide intention which has already started”. It, however, said the Army should be prepared for BNG, warning that the leadership of General Innocent Orji was ready for war. The statement reads “We fear not; we dine, sleep and live hostility and will defend our lives. Earlier today, men of the Nigerian Army surrounded the Country home of IPOB Leader.
